Welcome Rev. Kyle Carswell

Kyle comes to St. Timothy’s from St. James Episcopal Church in Conroe, Texas, where he served as Assistant Rector since 2019. He grew up in Iola, Kansas, a small town in the southeast part of the state.  Kyle first began to discern a calling to ministry in high school, when he was responsible for organizing worship services for his Boy Scout troop on overnight campouts.  While studying theology at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, Kyle found his way to the Episcopal Church. After graduating from Wheaton in 2013, he went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. As Kyle’s passion for ministry grew, he entered the ordination process, and was ordained in the Diocese of Georgia after serving part-time with a church plant in Savannah, Georgia. He moves to West Des Moines with his German Shepherd, Glory, and is excited to be back in the Midwest where he is closer to his family, who live in Kansas.
