What gifts would you bring to the vestry?

My professional work in mental health and the social services has given me the ability to be open to many different perspectives and points of view; as well as strong communication skills.  As a life time Episcopalian I have years of experience in observing the working of many different congregations.   As a mom, I have developed the gifts of humor and patience.   Finally, as a person who genuinely loves St. Timothy’s and its congregants, I am committed to working for a healthy and bright future for our church.

How long have you been at St. Timothy’s?

I was welcomed into St. Timothy’s in 2016 (having become a member of Trinity, Carroll in 1979).

What ministries have you been involved in at St. Timothy’s?

I have participated in Bible Study, Adult Formation, helped to facilitate our Grief and Renewal Group, serve as Lector/Litanist and have most recently, begun teaching in our Children’s Formation – the Ark!

What gifts would you bring to the Vestry?

By profession, I am a retired Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Counselor – beginning work with adults with severe head trauma and retired working with adults who were dually diagnosed – having a primary diagnosis of mental illness, complicated by developmental disability(ies).

In previous church homes, I have had the privilege of teaching both youth and adult classes, served as Lay Leader, served as President of the Women’s Group in two congregations and served as Chair of Administrative Council in two churches.

As a relative newcomer, who truly appreciated the grace extended to me in an invitation “to simply come and just be,” I understand the reasons in approaching the doors of St. Timothy’s to be not only varied but often complicated.  If I can help continue St. Timothy’s welcoming, encouraging presence in the greater community by serving as a member of the Vestry, I would be honored and humbled to be considered.
